Here is cat and dog in 8 steps.
Rule the ground line across the lower third.
Draw the cat on the left, sitting upright.
Add its pointed ears, face and whiskers.
Curl its tail round the base of the body.
Draw the dog on the right, taller, sitting.
Hang its two ears down either side of the head.
Add its face, the open mouth and the tongue.
Finish with its front paws and the tail behind.
