Easy drawings to print and color
26 free drawings in PDF, to color online or to copy by hand.
An easy drawing is not a rushed one. It is a drawing where nothing can really go wrong: round shapes that meet, no symmetry to hold, no texture to repeat. Every picture below was rated easy for that reason, and each one says the age a child can finish it alone and how long it takes. They are grouped by subject so you can find one fast, but they all come from the same place — difficulty is judged on what the lines ask of the hand, not on how many lines there are.

View allHow to pick an easy drawing by age
The "from age four" column is the most useful thing on this page. A cat face, a puppy face or a bunny face is drawn with no body, so there are no proportions to get wrong — the thing that spoils most first animals. The snowman and the unicorn donut are two circles each. At that age the goal is to finish: a finished drawing beats a good one.
From five, add a body and an object: the cat with its bowl, the puppy with a balloon, the cauldron. Still simple shapes, but now two things sit in relation to each other, and that is exactly the next step.
Time matters as much as difficulty
Every page shows a time, and it is honest. The shortest are around eight minutes — the wrapped present, the christmas star, the halloween ghost. That is the right length before dinner or in a waiting room. The longest on this page stay under a quarter of an hour; past that a drawing is no longer rated easy even if it is still simple, because a four year old's patience has a limit that the lines do not.
Easy to draw and easy to color are not the same thing
All of these print as coloring pages too, and there the test changes: what makes a coloring page easy is large closed areas. The christmas gnome with his enormous hat, the pumpkin with its wide ribs, Pikachu under his sheet forgive a marker the most. The animal faces, easy to draw, have fine whiskers a thick marker flattens — for coloring, keep those for pencils.
When easy gets too easy
The sign is simple: the child finishes and asks for another within a minute. The natural next step is a medium drawing of the same subject — the jumping cat after the cat face, the reindeer after the snowman. Every collection has some, and every easy page points at the step above it.
Common questions
What counts as an easy drawing for a child?
One with no symmetry to hold, no texture to repeat and no two elements to proportion. In practice: round shapes that touch, a single subject, and a time under a quarter of an hour. It is not the number of lines — the detailed christmas tree has few shapes and is hard, the cat face has several and is easy.
From what age can a child draw these on their own?
From four for half the page: the animal faces, the snowman, the unicorn donut, the present, the star, the ghost and the pumpkin. Each page shows its starting age. From five you add the ones with an object to place, like the puppy with a balloon.
How do you draw something easy step by step?
Every page here lists its steps at the bottom, in the order the lines go down. The principle never changes: the biggest shape first, then whatever hangs off it. For a first try, the cat with a bow has very short steps and looks like something by the third one.
Are these easy drawings free to print?
Yes, all of them, with no account and no sign-up. Each page has a print button and a PDF download, and the drawing colors in directly on screen as well. They come out in black outline on one sheet, ready to color.
