The folded front legs are the part worth slowing down on, because that fold is what makes a jump look like a jump rather than a horse floating. Here is jumping horse in 8 steps.
Draw the fence first, three rails across the lower third.
Add tufts of grass at each post.
Draw one long curve for the back, rising over the fence.
Hang the body under it, deeper at the chest.
Add the head and neck reaching forward and down.
Fold the two front legs up tight under the chest.
Stretch the back legs out behind, still extended.
Finish with the mane and tail streaming back.
