Here is baby mermaid in 8 steps.
Draw the open scallop shell, a wide fan standing upright.
Rib it with six lines spreading from the base.
Add the lower half of the shell as a shallow bowl.
Sit the mermaid inside, head first.
Add the face and the hair falling either side.
Draw the shoulders and the small body.
Curl the short tail round in front of her.
